Acupuncture: One of the oldest and most widely used medical procedures in the world. Practised by our physiotherapists for pain relief as an adjunct to other physiotherapy modalities Alexander Technique: This technique teaches the use of the appropriate amount of effort for a given activity, giving you more energy for all activities. It is not a series of treatments or exercises, but rather a re-education of the mind and body. The Alexander Technique is a method which helps a person find a new balance in the body by releasing unnecessary tension. It can be applied to sitting, lying down, standing, walking, lifting, and all other daily activities. Chiropody and Podiatry: Many foot problems arise from abnormal movements of the numerous complex joints in the foot and ankle. These abnormalities can cause foot, ankle, knee, hip and low back pain. Orthotic prescription and moulding are part of this service Craniosacral Osteopathy: Using light touch only the therapist is able to assess the quality of the patients cranial rhythm, providing an insight into the overall state of health of an individual. Disturbances of the cranial rhythm are associated with a variety of physical symptoms e.g. colic, digestive problems, headache, tinnitus, neck and back pain to name but a few. Correction of the disturbed cranial rhythm helps settle the physical complaint. Immogenics: A food sensitivity assessment through the Novo Programme. Blood samples are taken at the Clinic and sent away for laboratory analysis. Food intolerance has been linked to the development of a number of inflammatory conditions including arthritis. Life Coaching and Counselling: Back pain may be the presenting symptom of more complex problem which needs to be addressed before the pain will resolve. This service is an often necessary adjunct to all our other treatments, accepting that emotional problems often underpin back pain. Massage: Regular soft tissue stretch and relaxation can minimise or even prevent the onset of more significant musculoskeletal problems. Mobiliser: The mobiliser is a 7ft massage mat that helps your muscles relax, improves circulation, and restores movement to stiff joints. Used at the Clinic as a stand alone treatment or in combination with other treatments. Orthopaedic Medicine: A subspeciality of medicine treating diseases, injuries and conditions of the musculoskeletal system - that is of the body's muscles and skeleton including joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves. Blood testing available. Referral for x-rays and other radiological investigations possible. Osteopathy: Uses soft tissue massage and manipulation to allow the body to restore itself to normal balance and self healing. Physiotherapy: A well recognised treatment for physical injury. Our team of physiotherapists has a wealth of expertise and experience. Pilates Instruction: The Core muscles are essential to control movement of the lumbar spine, weakness of them leads to the development of poor posture and related low back, shoulder or foot problems. 1:1 instruction and supervision is available on site and recommended prior to joining a group Pilates class, particularly if you have a history of back problems. Sports Medicine: A subspeciality of medicine which deals with the treatment and preventative care of athletes both amateur and professional. |
